About Yvonne

Being human means to be questioned by life; to live a fulfilled existence means to give answers. For most people, 4 fundamental questions are being asked of us at any given time.  These questions are: 1) "can I?" - do i have enough strength to be here and do this? 2) "do I like to?" - do I find value in this? 3) "am I allowed to be me?" - do I accept myself and am I accepted by others? 4) "for what reason?" - is this meaningful to me? Therapy is concerned with identifying and dealing with blocks; to help you find your inner "yes" to these fundamental questions.

My work has, and continues to be primarily with families at a community agency. My experience has been with all demographics and presenting issues have included domestic abuse, parent teen conflict, ADHD, depression, anxiety, parenting, separation, grief and existential issues. I love the work and it allows me the flexibility to also do private practice and other pursuits.

I trained in Existential Analysis through the Existential Analysis Society of Canada (EAC), an affiliate of the International Society for Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (GLE-I). I continue to be involved in the society as a board member, presenter and workshop facilitator. Living and sharing how to live existentially is my passion.

I use a phenomenological approach in working with clients. This means understanding YOUR personal experience of your situation. This is done through dialogue and experiential activities. A metaphor to describe how you will experience our work together is, you will lead as you know where you want to go, and I will travel with you, holding the flashlight.
