I work with people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, stress in the workplace, and blocks to personal growth or creativity.
My clients comment that they feel heard and understood by me, and that they appreciate my soft-spoken, gentle, and compassionate nature.
My primary therapeutic modality is AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) (Level III Training), which draws from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and more. What this looks like and feels like in session is that I will be working from the get-go to attend to all aspects of the therapeutic relationship with you, and together we will create the space where we can work towards your goals. I believe that growth and change are possible, and that everyone has an innate drive towards healing and wholeness. Establishing the environment in which this process can begin to unfold is a main goal in the counselling relationship.
I bring a varied background to my counselling work. My first degree was in music, and I spent many years teaching and performing. In addition to my counselling psychology degree, I also completed a master’s degree in theological studies, focusing on spirituality and contemplative traditions. I am a dog lover, and I enjoy the outdoors, and listening to great music of all genres.
Choosing a counsellor involves finding the best fit for you personally, and for your needs. I look forward to taking the journey with you.
