Andy uses a trauma and multiculturally informed approach to understand the contexts that led his clients to where they are. A big part of Andy’s style is creating and maintaining a safe, collaborative and compassionate relationship for effective change to happen. He believes in the importance of empowering his clients, firstly by validating their experiences and acknowledging their vulnerabilities and then by identifying areas of change.
Andy has extensive experience in coaching and counselling using CBT (cognitive-behavioural therapy) and person-centred models as well as EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) with men, women, teens and couples.
His career path has focused on empowering individuals to reach their potential. He supports his clients in getting the right tools to flourish in their daily lives and feel confident to overcome obstacles arising from stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship/marriage issues.
Andy worked as an educator in various universities in the UK, Canada and Japan. He holds a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and in TESL from UBC.
