About Lena

An overwhelming amount of evidence points to the fact that we are built to connect. As children, we learn how to trust and how to be safe in the world through relationships with our caregivers. Later in life, we learn about belonging and our identity through relationships with our peers.

Today, we've moved away from a community culture but the problem is that we are still biologically oriented towards relationships. When we are disconnected, we struggle emotionally. We are anxious, depressed, stressed, and stuck. This also means that we cannot solve our own emotional struggles on our own, because being alone in our pain, many times, is what created the problem in the first place.

It's my role as a counsellor to facilitate an environment where my clients can begin to connect: to themselves, their feeling, their bodies, to another human beings, or to their definition of "something bigger".

My approach is warm and focused. I'm trained in multiple modalities which are trauma-informed, body-based, and emotion-focused. I draw on a family-systems perspective (which asks who did you become in the family you grew up in?). All techniques in our sessions I have been a recipient of; they are tested, experienced, and evidence-based.

Sessions offered in English or Russian.
